So far I have noticed that the controls which used to be enabled on the MacBook “magic touchbar” for playback, volume, etc are no longer appearing when the app is open and in focus. As I continue to use the desktop app on this new OS version I will update this issue with additional details and observations.

Hi there @FeedMyEars,

Thanks for posting on the Spotify Community!

Since this is a Mac feature and you mentioned that this started happening after the latest OS update, it'd be best to reach out to Apple Support and check if this is still supported by them.

Take care.

I'm running Tahoe 26.0.1 and Spotify for macOS (Apple Silicon) 1.2.74.477.g3be53afe.

Just after updating to Tahoe, my Apple Magic Keyboard (model A1483) stopped working with Spotify. I wasn't able to use the media control keys.

I was able to fix this by uninstalling Spotify, rebooting, and then reinstalling. I don't know if this will do the trick for you, but it did work for me.

Good luck!

Since upgrading to Tahoe Spotify is responding to my keystrokes while I'm typing in another screen. So Spotify is in the background somewhere and I'm just sending an email for instance.

Spotify is also magically starting on its own to play music. So when I'm not on my laptop, I suddenly notice the music is on. Before the upgrade to Tahoe I didn't have any issues.

Since upgrading to Tahoe 26.2 Spotify stopped loading. It will open the black window and then proceed to "work" on loading content indefinitely. If on occasion it will load the playlist, it does not do anything when Play button is pressed. No issues until this latest update.
