Cannot open or update Spotify Mac App

Hi All,

According to today, Sept 26th, 2025 - the desktop app supports only MacOS 12 and up. I use 11.7.10. Alongside this - all of a sudden I'm unable to open the app. So it's not only that I cannot update to a newer version, I can't even fix the app constantly crashing by re-installing an older version that is no where to be found.

All of a sudden - no Spotify.

Any possible workarounds despite the aforementioned?

*when clicking on “find installers for older versions” - it directs me a to regular installation page of the most recent version.

Hey @EchoBloom, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

You can view the current supported versions for the Spotify app here. Since your version has been discontinued, you’re still able to use the Web Player, however, there isn’t an official way to revert to a previous version of an app, or to load an app if it’s not officially supported by Spotify.

No es lógico tener que cambiar de mac, debería haber un repositorio para poder instalar la ultima versión compatible con cada sistema, aunque ya no las actualicen ni den soporte, estamos hablando de varios miles de euros.

Es decir, Spotify debería garantizar la última instalación estable de cada sistema o versión de la computadora que hayan desarrollado, sin cambiar, en mi caso de mi mac.

Yo dispongo de la versión 10.7.10 y no puedo actualizarle, ha llegado a su límite, si se degradara mi app de Spotify, debería poder volver a instalarla.

Nos dan como solución abrir un navegador Web, pero este no te permite casi ninguna configuración, ni siquiera, poder elegir la calidad de audio.

Esto pudiera justificar darse de baja como premian.
