Playback keeps cutting out on MAC

I am currently having problems with using Spotify on my Mac.

Everything is working fine until I minimalise my Spotify window and then playback cuts out. When I open the window again the track will resume instantly. If my Spotify window is open constantly it works fine too and this problem does not happen.

I cannot find a solution to this although I have tried everything I can. Spotify work's fine on all other devices and I don't think it is a Internet issue because I get the same problem on multiple different connections. This is particularly annoying when switching through different windows for example.

It did stop for a few weeks but now that it has come back I think I will be canceling my spotify subscription if I cannot find a solution.

Same problem on iMac Retina 5K

I tried resetting the router, uninstalling the app and dumping all cache and other files on the Mac. Problem still exists. Using the desktop app on mac cuts in and out. Clicking on the desktop or other windows bring the stream back, then it cuts out again. Happens in all conditions, minimized, app open, etc.

I am on 1 Gb fiber, wired connection, no wifi. My Mac is quad core, 32GB memory. It's not on my end.

Same Issue here, I have a iMac 5k Retina as well and whenever Spotify falls out of focus playback is interrupted. I can confirm that all other applications work on my end, and reinstalling spotify as per what customer service recommended doesn't make a difference.

I can confirm that the fix for this issue is:

1. Open Terminal app
2. Paste following command line
defaults write com.spotify.client NSAppSleepDisabled -bool YES
3. Press Enter

The spotify app seems to have a bug which on 'AppSleep' an OSX feature that Spotify must have improperly handled, causing playback to halt. The above solution stops 'AppSleep' from being preformed on Spotify, and solves it!
