Desktop app won't play local files

The desktop app won't play my local files anymore. Every time I try to play any of them I get an error message that says "This content is not available." I have checked to make sure that local files were still enabled in settings and that the correct folders were connected to the app, and everything was good there.

I did find the solution of deleting the local-files.bnk file from the cache folder, and that worked the first time I tried it. But since then the problem has returned and that solution no longer works. Deleting that file does nothing, I still can't play my local files and the file returns to the cache folder after about a minute.

I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. This also did not help. I'm getting kind of frustrated here, the local files are stored on this computer, I should be able to play them but for some reason I can't.

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community, and welcome 🙂

We understand you’ve already tried reinstalling the app. However, we’d like to suggest a clean reinstall as this is more thorough than a regular one and can be helpful to get rid of any cache that might be causing trouble.

If this doesn't do the trick, could you try changing the Local Files source folder to see if you notice any difference?

Keep us posted on how it goes.

Okay, that seems to have worked for now. But the first time I deleted the local-files.bnk file and it worked for awhile and then stopped working again. Fingers crossed it keeps working!
