[Desktop] Task Manager shows Spotify using Very High power

I am running the latest version of Windows 10. I have tried installing Spotify from Spotify.com and the Windows 10 store. Both versions use Very High power, even when no audio is playing. There are games which do not utilize this much power, I'm curious as to why Spotify needs to. Seems like such a waste. Screenshot attached.

There is something you can do to restrict how much storage and resource Spotify Desktop uses. You can check it out here, it is safe!

If it does not work then try some steps given in this article. Let us know how it goes.

@jephyb In addition to the good suggestions provided by @Amay, please open your Spotify app, go to Settings and disable the option called Enable Hardware Acceleration.
