Friend Activity Not Working [dec 2021]

My Question or Issue

The friend activity is not working. I can't see what my friends are listening to. It looks like I have a setting turned off, but I can't find which one.

- "See what your friends are playing" is turned on.

- "Share my listening activity on Spotify" is turned on (this is also turned on by my friends).

I have tried logging out (and back in) twice.

I have tried reinstalling the app.

Can someone help me?

My friends can see what I'm listening to, and I want to see what they're listening to!!

Thank you for reaching out to the Community!

There were recent changes made to every user's settings, in which the default setting to share listening activity has been globally set to OFF, and this may be the reason other users have disappeared from your Friend Feed.

Now, you mentioned that your friends have the "Share my listening activity on Spotify" setting toggled on. Could you share with us some screenshots taken from your friend's accounts that can show this?

Also, please let us know which devices they're using to play music and ask them to make sure they're not using the Private Session feature.
