Spotify App closes when minimised

My Question or Issue

I have the Spotify App installed from the Windows Store.

If I minimise the app using the '_' button in the app title bar, then the playing music will stop and the app immediately exits.

My preference setting for "Close Button Should Minimise the Spotify Window" is false/off.

If I turn that setting on, then I can minimise the App, and also if I attempt to close the app with the 'X' button in the Title bar then the music continues playing and the app is also visible in the system tray.

Turning this setting off again reverts to the behaviour that the minimise and the close button both close the application. This isn't expected, minimise should still just minimise the app.

You can get it close minimise by using WIN+D to 'Show Desktop', this minimises all windows including Spotify, your music continues playing.

Thanks for the post.

This sounds very strange. I'd recommend you run a clean reinstall of the app, following this Guide. This should clear out all app data and related cache, which might be causing the issue.
