what did they do to the windows client? i haven't made any major changes to my PC or anything and all the sudden a couple of days ago it just will not run at all with a "something went wrong" error

i've been trying to solve it and spotify's support is garbage, now i literally can't even install spotify anymore because now on install i get "spotify could not be started error 17" which also has almost no support for it

wth did you guys do to break the app this badly, this is insane, i'm actually going to have to cancel spotify and switch to another streaming service because you guys completely destroyed the app

EDIT: after all this it just randomly decides to work? okay

i think i'm still done with this, this isn't the first time the windows app has just been rendered completely nonfunctional for literally no reason like this

Hey @thisappsuckss,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

Sorry if this change may cause any inconveniences. Usually, when the app starts behaving differently after an update, it's related to some damaged cache stored on your device from previous versions. If it happens again, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps in this article. This is often an overlooked step, but it's more thorough than a quick one and can be helpful in getting rid of any cache that might be causing trouble.

Once you've completed this process, restart your PC and try again. This usually does the trick.

Also, make sure you have the latest OS version on your device and the updated version of the Spotify app.

Hope this helps. If anything else comes up, don't hesitate to ask.

Didn't work for me. I have massive issues with Spotify in the last few months, especially with the "something went wrong" issue. Tried uninstalling, rebooting, clean install, deleting everything, tried the version from your website and the MS Store and so on.

Please just fix the issue! The forums and the Microsoft Store are full of people having issues. Get your **bleep**ing things straight or you'll lose customers over time.
