Hi there @user-removed,

Thanks for the post.

You can go into the Desktop app settings > Storage and check where the Offline Storage location leads to. This is the place where Spotify will download songs to if you've clicked the Download button on a playlist/ album etc.

Normally, Spotify shouldn't need to access OneDrive at all, if you haven't installed the app there or you haven't set local files or downloads location there.

Hope this helps.

Plan

Premium

Country

Netherlands

Device

Laptop

Operating System

Windows 10

My Question or Issue

Hello. I was uninstalling spotify because it gave the 'can't play music' error all the time, and as I was uninstalling I saw a notification pop up in the corner, for the shortest time, that spotify downloaded something from onedrive. It didn't mention what or why and how but um...

I guess I consented to this without looking.

Why did it do this, and now that Spotify is installed, how do I make sure I do not consent to this and disallow the program from looking into- and downloading stuff from onedrive? This is my work laptop, connected to the business onedrive. I don't want spotify to be able to read or download anything from it.

Thanks!

Hey @user-removed,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome 🙂

This is odd indeed, let's work on it together. In this case, we suggest you perform a clean reinstall of the app on your computer to see if you notice any difference. You can find out the steps to do it here. By doing that the app can be up-to-date and you can make sure the cache is not leading to this inconvenience.

However, it that doesn't do the trick and you continue to notice this behavior, we'll need you to send us a video recording or screenshots of it, so we can visualize better what's happening on your side.

Keep us in the loop!

Thank you for your reply! I have already done a clean reinstall of Spotify. However, I'm not sure if I'm consenting to the program checking through OneDrive. Is there a way to see if this is the case? I have 'local files' switched off. Thank you!
