topic Change Local Files' Metadata Without Greying Out? in Desktop (Windows)

I have hundreds of old local files in my Liked Songs, and with a lot of them I didn't set up the metadata properly, so they don't have artist names, albums, album art, etc. However, in the past, when I've tried to modify these, it greys out the song and I have to re-add it. I don't want this to happen though as it'll mess up the order for all my songs. Is there a way to do change the songs' metadata while having them remain in place?

Hi there @papapyro,

Thanks for reaching out. For the moment, editing the metadata of local files can interfere with the app's ability to recognize the song, hence why they need to be readded. If you want, have a look at this idea about a similar feature and vote for it and spread the word, hopefully it gets taken into consideration.

Hope this clears things up.
