Spotify - Freezing entire Windows computer

Hi,

I've been experiencing really bad issues with the Spotify app on my Windows computer. Everytime I want to play or listen to music, it keeps freezing my entire computer and I have to reboot it everytime which is really annoying. The music sound does a scratchy, repetitive noise when it unexpectedly freezes and I can't do task manager to escape the app. I might have to stop using Spotify if it keeps acting up. Any advice on what to do? I update and reinstall the app a bunch of times but nothing seems to work for me 😞

Hi.

It can be multiple reasons why the program freezes your account.

I recommend you to re-install Spotify and see if it works after.

1. Go to Task Manager and remove all Spotify processes.

2. Go to %appdata%, locate your Spotify folder and remove the folder and other Spotify files.

3. After you are certain all of the Spotify files are removed, install Spotify.
