app wont work

app keeps saying Spotify can't play this right now if you have the file in your computer you can import it. The app was working perfectly fine yesterday morning then I started it last night and all it does is give me the same message. yes i have uninstalled and reinstalled it and tried all the other suggested solutions and none of them work which is extremely frustrating.
Works on my iphone app, works on web player, not on the windows app.

Hi there! I have a possible solution, but it's kinda a weird one that seems like it wouldn't help.

In Windows 10/11:

Right-click on the sound icon in your taskbar and select sound settings.

Scroll down to the Volume Mixer option.

On the Volume Mixer page, click the Reset button at the bottom.

Hi and thanks again for the suggestion, I tried it out but unfortunately it has not resolved the issue.

Since your web player works, I would assume it's not an internet connection issue.

Could you try signing out and back into the Spotify client twice? This should force a resync of data between your app and Spotify's servers.

When you reinstalled, did you perform a normal reinstall or a clean reinstall?

If you did not perform a clean reinstall, I'd recommend trying that. You can use these instructions.

I found out eventually that it is my laptop - in its' death-throes, sadly.

But thank you heaps for the suggestions 🙂
