I always get a notification of A NEW UPDATE that doesn't work

My Question or Issue

Every time I use the PC app it seems like a blue notification, "Update Spotify Now", but when I hit it it just restarts the app and nothing happens. I have been having this problem for 4 months. I have tried to fix it by downloading the app again but the problem only got worse. I hope your help community. Thank you.

When you press "Update" and the app restarts, does it still show the "Update" button?

Yes, it always happens and no change is shown in the application.

Hey, @user-removed thanks for the screenshot. Just to double check, do you mean that there is no visual change in the application or that this blue UPDATE button stays the same and asks you to update every time you restart?

Also, please try a clean install of the Spotify app. You can read more about how to do that here.

Hi, there is no visual change to the app and I still get the same blue UPDATE button asking me to 
update every time I restart the app. I already did a clean run of the app, and it didn't work.

Thanks for the reply @user-removed.

I would suggest using the Spotify App from the Microsoft Store. You can install it from there and then the updates would come through Microsoft Store releases.

Do share your current App version by clicking the 3 dots on the top left and then help -> about.

Hi, thanks a lot for the help. I installed the app via Microsoft store and it got updated, improved interface and now I have version 1.2.10.760 of the app. Thanks for your great idea. :D
