Sorry but, how is this a solution? Imagine you try to watch a movie and screen keeps turning off every few minutes and your software support tells you you can tweak screen-off from Windows cfg. How can it be that such a simple and basic function is not available in a very old and widespread platform?

Device

Laptop + screen

Operating System

Windows 10

My Question or Issue

Hello,

Can you add an option in the Spotify application to stop the screen saving of the PC while Spotify is playing (like a video software)?

My PC is connected to an external screen with HDMI and my speakers are connected to it with a jack. When the PC goes into screen saving mode, the music stops because the screen stops. And I do not want to disable complete the screen saving. Hence, having an option in the application would be great!

Thanks in advance.

Hey there @SiméonC,

Thanks for the post.

There is now way to control this from within the Spotify app currently and we're not aware of any official plans to add such support, since this can be controlled from the PC power saving options.

We've passed your feedback to the right folks at Spotify, who work on making the app more user friendly 🙂

We can't say however, if such a feature will be implemented to Spotify in the near future.

Cheers.

I fear this is more a non-solution than a solution. I'm not aware of any way of doing this from the Windows settings apart from disabling the screen-off entirely.
