How to Play/Pause spotify using Logitech Ghub controls while playing a game?

I use a Logitech headset and mouse. I also play a lot of games, often while listening to music. If I am just on my desktop I can use the key I bound play/pause to and it works fine for spotify. However if I am in another program (such as a game) then the play/pause button no longer works for spotify. Does anyone know how to make this work as it is annoying to have to keep alt tabbing to pause a song...

Hi there @Eoin_Lynne,

Thanks for reaching out. Does Spotify react at all to the button inputs or does nothing happen. In my experience, if another music/media playback app is open in the background then any keyboard/mouse media keys will control that, but if you take care to close all other such apps and leave only Spotify open, the keys should work even while your game is open. Also consider trying to use the desktop app and not the webplayer and settings your games to "Windowed" or "Windowed Borderless" instead of "Fullscreen" in the respective video settings as fullscreen may sometimes override inputs to other programs.

Are you sure that u have the pause and play command on the right profile u might have the play and pause on ur desktop and on ur game(ex. Fortnite) u don't have it also I found out if u launch the game as administrator (ex. Fortnite) and are on it then you won't be able to pause or play anything else u have to find launcher and right click go to properties and unselect launch as administrator.

Hi, i have the same issue as OP, i have tried all of the other screen modes in the game and none of them fixed the issue, any other solution?

Hey @richardkur,

Maybe you could use a mobile device to control the playback via the Connect function?
You'd essentially be turning your mobile into a remote control while keeping the playback on your desktop.
It's not the solution you were maybe looking for but I think it could work as a workaround 🙂
