My Question or Issue

Hello! I've been tracking down this issue for a few months now, trying various different solutions to no avail. I'm not sure when this started happening or the root cause but as of recently, my spotify desktop has heavy slowdown and delay with any actions. Some examples are changing the volume takes 5-20 seconds, the slider will revert to 100% volume, then it will visually and then volume-wise change. This goes for selecting playlists, changing songs, any actions within the program. Closing spotify through the X in the corner, music will continue playing for another 15-20 seconds, with a task still open in the background until it finally closes out and the music cuts.

I've tried just about everything, re-installing multiple times, cleaning out the cache folders in appdata, I primarily use the windows standalone version but even microsoft store same problems. Hardware accel on/off. My S23 Ultra has no problem at all.

Any ideas/input? I've looked through the posts and have tried most recommendations but I am not sure where to go from here.

Thanks for posting on the Community!

Could you check for available updates for your device's operating system? Also, does the same thing happen if you listen to music via the Web Player?

If possible, could you ask a friend or a family member to log into their own Spotify account on your device to see if they experience the same app behavior?

Hello!

Spotify web player is fast, and with no delays, besides an upgrade to Windows 11, my desktop is up to date.

I checked, and my laptop experiences the same slowdown problem, and it is on Windows 11. I'll try having someone else log into my spotify account and report back.
