I have uninstalled & re-installed Spotify (as suggested) I have set streaming quality to Low - as suggested . My music is stopping literally every 5 to 10 seconds, so why am I paying for Premium?

Hi @Insconsultant,

Thanks for reaching out. Could you elaborate a bit more on what the exact behaviour is and how it occurst? Namely, please provide us the following:

What devices does this happen on?

Is this on all devices or only on specific one(s)?

When did this start happening?

Does it happen with all content?

Does it happen on all networks or only specific one(s)? If you haven't tested this, please do so. You can use a phone hotspot if necessary.

A video of the behaviour. If the files are too large to attach here in the Community, you can send them to us via Google Drive or as unlisted YouTube videos.

With this information, we’d be happy to investigate.

Keep us posted.

This has been happening for a considerable time.

Originally, I would be playing the music on a windows computer, but for
several months now all playing has been on my Alexa speakers.

Suddenly music stops playing. Whether I look at the computer screen, the
Spotify app on my Samsung Note20, or the Alexa app on the phone, on the
computer usually the piece has come to and end, the time line is at the
end and the play indicator is showing "Play" not "Pause". Occasionally
the piece has actually stopped on the time line in the middle of the
tune with the indicator on "play".

On the computer I have to either click to send the piece back to
beginning, or the the end, then play resumes normally.

If I look at the problem on Spotify phone or Alexa phone all I see is
the play indicator on"Pause". Changing the indicator to "Play" restarts
the music.

Originally the problem would occur once every couple of days.
Uninstall/reinstall Spotify seemed to work for a short while. Recently,
the problem has been much oftener. Yesterday it went crazy, stopping was
happening every 5 seconds.

I started playing music directly from my computer on Alexa (This only
plays all pieces in a folder, consecutively, whereas I always play a
playlist randomly), but at night I tried Spotify again(after
uninstall/reinstall) and it worked for a while, but this morning it
stopped again.

I did have one screenshot of the computer, but apparently I deleted it
when I found I could not talk to Spotify Support.

Hi @Insconsultant,

Thanks for the detailed reply. Could you please test the following:

See if the same happens if playing on your devices in offline mode

Log out everywhere and disconnect any connected apps on the account page. Disconnect your account from the Alexa app too. Then reconfigure these and log back in and see if that addresses the issue.

Check if you have any routines (Bixby and the like) on your phone that may be pausing the playback or fast forwarding it

Let us know how it goes.
