Issue

Basically on my PC on my spotify app, my music is shown to be playing yet there is no sound. I’ve tried resinstalling many times and made sure the volume is on but it still doesnt work. The thing is, if I use spotify on the google browser it works perfectly fine. Just wondering if I can get the app fixed somehow since the browser doesn’t have an equalizer or anything.

I'm having the same issue. Restarting hasn't helped either.

Hey @Harmonically and @al2six

A fix that I've found that often helps with this issue is resetting the volume mixer in Windows.

In Windows 10/11:

Right-click on the sound icon in your taskbar and select sound settings.

Scroll down to the Volume Mixer option.

On the Volume Mixer page, click the Reset button at the bottom.

Audio glitching

I need assistance, whenever I open Spotify on my Windows PC, I play the music and there's no sound. The fix I always have to do is go into Sound Settings and go app volume and device preferences and then mess with the settings to make it work. I tried a fresh reinstall of Spotify, this issue only came recently.
I've just tried to reinstall spotify again, still the issue is present and now on top of that I have yet another one, whenever I change the volume on spotify, it takes it half a second for the volume to change...About the audio glitching, It happens randomly. The audio of my whole PC slows down and becomes glitchy. I experimented and this only happens when Spotify is open.

I know this will sound really stupid but I was actually going around trying to find a solution until I finally realised that I had the volume bar at minimum... Maybe it's the dark mode but I think Spotify should make it clearer that the volume is muted or at 0 (see screenshot) as I think I accidentally moved it to 0 and for two whole days I could not figure out what was wrong... LOL

Yup - same issue for me. The app and the browser were playing on the device (mobile) instead of the laptop. It said clearly at the bottom. had to explicitly have it play on "This Computer"

I found it for me: it was the beta feature where you can select your output device in spotify. Go to settings, right below the Equalizer... for me it had some speaker selected that didn't match my windows selected output device...
