Plan

premium

Country

usa

Device

windows 11 desktop pc, iphone 12

Operating System

Windows 11

My Question or Issue

On my desktop app, My spotify is stuck playing a playlist of mine and it skips through the whole playlist playing each song for less than a second. It does this maybe once or twice till it lands on a random song in the playlist. From here it will play but it wont let me use any of the buttons on my app. I can only pause an resume. No skip, no rewind, nothing like that. It does let me chose the time on the song and the volume. I can navigate through the app but it wont play other playlists when I press the play button. The only way to listen to other songs is to add them to my queue and then skip the time to the end of the current song. On webplayer it wont do ANYTHING. The second I open it, it starts skipping songs and gets stuck in a loop where it skips maybe 2-3 songs per second and it doesn't stop. This started when my phone was left open in my pocket and touching against my leg, it accidentally skipped a bunch of songs in a row, pressing the skip or rewind button over and over. After that it got stuck and I had to delete and reinstall spotify on my iphone 12. After that it works on my phone. I have clean reinstalled spotify over 3 times on my desktop and it WILL NOT WORK. This is extremely aggravating as I do my work on here and want to listen to music through spotify. It will not let me.

Hey @lsandulescu1,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

This is not a common type of issue. To start investigating it, as it could be related to some damaged cache stored on your PC, we'd recommend clearing any entries which contain Spotify from the host files on your computer. To do so, you can follow the instructions in this post (even if it's a different issue).

Also, it would be great if you could have someone log in with their account on your device - such as a friend or a family member, to see if the issue persists. This will help us understand if it could be account-related or not.

If the issue persists, include in your next response the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.

We'll be on the lookout.

Why does my PC App keep pausing the music and just randomly restarts

When listening to music on my Windows PC, the music will just stop for no reason, and I would have to skip the song for anything to be played, just for the next song to do the same. If I leave it, it will just restart playing randomly, and then stop again a few seconds later. I have been unable to use my Spotify premium account for more than an hour at a time for weeks.

As i try to listen to Spotify Web, it keeps skipping songs and when it lands in a song that will play, it won't play for more than 10 seconds. The seconds keep rolling, but the audio just disappears.

Happening on a brand new phone (was also happening on my old phone two days ago), on head phones, car Bluetooth, and when I'm not connected to any Bluetooth device, and doesn't matter what I try to listen to.
