My volume is too low

Even though i make my volume max the music volume is too low and this only happens on my pc in my phone its perfectly fine

Thanks for reaching out on the Community!

Just to make sure we cover all bases, could you double-check both the volume slider within the Spotify app, as well as the PC's own volume controls? As these volume controls are independent from each other, both needs to be adjusted accordingly.

It's also worth changing the Volume level in the app settings to see if you notice any difference. You can find this under Audio Quality > Volume level.

Should this behavior persist, it would be great if you could let us know what device and operating system you're using, along with the Spotify version. Also, are you connected to any Bluetooth headphones when this happens, or are you listening directly from the computer's speaker?

Keep us posted on how it goes!

I looked up the reccomendations from you and its all normal all of my volumes are at max and this problem only happens on my pc. When i use spotify from my phone with the exact same headphone the volume is normal. Im using a wired headset.
I am using spotify from a laptop which uses windows 10 and my spotify version is:

Spotify for Windows (64 bit)
1.2.43.420.gc7b23f70

Thank you for keeping in contact and for the info shared.

To continue investigating this, it would be great if you could have someone log in with their account on your laptop - such as a friend or a family member, to see if the issue persists.

Also, would you mind checking on the Web Player to see if it makes any difference?

Lastly, since you mentioned that you use headphones, could you confirm if the volume is also low when playing directly from your laptop speakers?

We'll be on the lookout.

Spotify is extremely quiet whenever I open it on my desktop.

So whenever I open Spotify on my desktop and play it through my speakers it so quiet I cannot hear it until turned up to full volume on my speaker. I also know its not my speaker cause when I open up a app like YouTube or Tiktok the volume is fine and have no problems what so ever, so basically I'm just confused on how I can fix this.

Didnt exatcly solve it, but its defenitely better for me as since i reinstalled windows spotify is way quieter than before(everything else is good.) Three dots on the top left, then edit, then preferences(or ctrl+p) and under audio quality disable "normalise volume" as uploaded songs need to be inbetween a min and max volume as long as i know. (everything is on the pic I attached)

As @OscarDC has mentioned in his last reply, it's a good idea to test if this behaviour would be present with a different account! 🙂
I'd also advise opening the Volume Mixer to see the level at which the Spotify app is set. To do so, right click on your speaker taskbar icon and select 'Open Volume mixer':

Good evening, I've entered the desktop app on Windows today and found that the sound suddenly it's too low. Normally I keep my pc volume on 25%, and it's alright, until yesterday it was fine. But when I've entered today, it sounds much lower than it should be and I had to turn it up to at least 50%.

Hi i had a similar problem and i fixed it by going to the Settings -> Audio Quality -> Turn Off "Normalize Volume" right below

My Question or Issue

The volume on my spotify desktop app is lower than normal. I have it on max on windows volume and 50% on the app and thats pretty much silent now but wasn't before.
Increasing the volume on the app to 90% makes it good again but everything between 1-80% is just silent now and 100% is too loud

Has anyone found a fix for this? I've adjusted normalised volume and tried numerous setting changes even with Spotify app volume at 100%, but compared to YouTube and other audio sources its really low. I believe its been since the last update.

The issue persists, I used to have my Spotify volume at 10/15%, but now I almost need to crank it up to the max to get the same volume as before.

I have the same problem. I thought that the problem would be solved after installing the new version (1.255.235.0). But the issue remains. Hope it will be solved soon because it's have been at least two weeks with this problem.

I'm having the same troubles since a week ago. I use Spotify on a Windows PC. I have to turn the volume up to the max to hear anything, and even then i can listen something only if I am close to the PC (with PC volume settings at 35%). The volume of all other applications and of the browser works perfectly. In the system audio settings Spotify is at 100% volume. I have removed "normalize volume" in the application as suggested above by other users. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the application twice. Nothing has ever changed.
This is quite frustrating, and continuing like this I will cancel the premium account

here to report the same issue.

normally i listen to 30% volume on my wireless headset (HyperX Cloud Wireless II)

but for two week or more now i have to at least double the volume in order to hear it on the same loudness.

weirdest part is, low frequencies seem to lower spotifys volume, songs that dont have any bass at the start get increasingly louder till the bass starts playing.
i'm using spotifys desktop app, switched between the windows store and the installer but both versions have the same issue now. also had the issue back in december for a week but it was gone afterwards.

tried disabling any sound enhancements / modifications in windows sound stuff but nothing helped.

browser volume is fine, 30% is like it always was.

its like windows intentionally lowers spotifys volume. in some other applications, if they get too loud windows also lowers their volumes so your ears wont get blasted.

Thanks for posting in this thread! As we've been seeing a few more comments here lately, we'd like to look into this a bit further.

Just to confirm, if this only happens to you when using headphones, could you double-check if another pair of headphones makes any difference? Or if it happens when listening directly from the computer, please check if using headphones make a difference.

Should the volume issues persist, it would be great if you could send us the following details, which we'll pass on to our tech folks:

Your device's make, model & OS version.
Current Spotify version.
Any troubleshooting steps you've tried (clean reinstall, updating the OS, using another account, trying the Web Player, etc.).

We'll keep an eye out for your replies!
