Hello everyone !

I had an issue a while back, with my Spotify being very slow on my Windows 10 PC, and at the time it had been solved, it was here :

https://community.spotify.com/t5/Desktop-Windows/Why-is-my-Spotify-so-slow/m-p/7001233

But what I've noticed is that every time Spotify updates itself, it starts becoming slower and slower, up until the point where I need to do a clean uninstall & reinstall again.

After each reinstall, I don't have any problem, it's fast and responsive, but it only lasts until the next update where it begins slowing down again.

My PC is not the newest possible, it's a 5 or 6 year-old PC, but every other program I use runs just fine, it's only Spotify that slows down.

I could uninstall and reinstall Spotify with each update, but maybe there's a better way to solve this issue ?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks !

Hey @Grazzt!

Thanks for reaching out.

In this case, I’d suggest clearing any entries related to Spotify from your computer’s host file by following the steps mentioned here to see if that helps after the next update.

I’d also recommend running Disk Cleanup, deleting temporary files, clearing your browsing data, and flushing the DNS cache, it can help improve your PC’s overall performance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted on how it goes!
/Mateus

Hi Mateus !

Thanks for your answer.

Alright then, I'll see how it goes after the next update, and if unfortunately it slows down again I'll clear the host files and let you know !

I do run DiskCleanup on a regular basis, and Glary Utilities too, it helps maintaining my PC in good shape 😉
