&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Since the troubleshooting suggestions in this thread are a bit scattered, we'd like to summarize them here and add some additional ones which hopefully will help with this issue:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;UL&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Clean reinstall the app using &lt;A href="https://support.spotify.com/article/reinstall-spotify/" target="_self"&gt;these steps&lt;/A&gt;.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Try both versions of the app (the one from Microsoft Store and the one from our website).&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Make sure you're logged in your account in the default browser of your PC.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Disable your VPN if you're using one.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Change your proxy settings in the login screen of the app.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;&lt;A href="https://support.spotify.com/article/country-region-settings/" target="_self"&gt;Update your country settings&lt;/A&gt; in case the country in your account differs from the one you're currently located in.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Check your hosts file using &lt;A href="https://community.spotify.com/t5/FAQs/Clearing-hosts-file/ta-p/6130332" target="_self"&gt;this guide&lt;/A&gt;.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Try a different internet connection (preferably by a different provider).&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Try adding &lt;A href="https://support.spotify.com/article/login-methods/" target="_self"&gt;an alternative login method&lt;/A&gt;.&lt;/LI&gt;

It looks to me like my account somehow got "flagged" due to security concerns and the desktop access is still kind of "blocked".&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So I'd really like someone from spotiy to look into my account ... but how can I contact spotify support?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;In general, the use of VPN with Spotify is not recommended. Still, something else you can try here is changing the Proxy type to &lt;STRONG&gt;No proxy&lt;/STRONG&gt; + restarting the app. You can do this by selecting &lt;STRONG&gt;Settings&lt;/STRONG&gt; on the login screen.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;It's also worth connecting your laptop to a different Wi-Fi network to see if that does the trick. You can create a mobile hotspot from your phone, for example. Another thing to check is if Spotify is allowed through your firewall and if the following ports are open:&lt;/P&gt;
