My Question or Issue

Hello,

I updated my Spotify app and now all the art and artist thumbnails are missing. My other Spotify devices such as Android and Mac work. I have tried deleting all trace of Spotify on my PC and reinstalling without success. Please advise.

Thanks for reaching out!

Could you check if the app isn't in Offline mode by accident? You can do this from the three dots menu in the top left corner > File > Offline mode.

If the issue persists, I'd recommend installing Spotify again, only this time from another source: if you previously got the app from the Microsoft Store, check if downloading it from our website directly makes a difference and vice versa.

Tried to toggle between offline mode and not and still the same.

I've tried installing from Microsoft Store and the Spotify download, and
still the same. I literally just updated the Spotify app and then this
happened. No matter if I clean install, there is no art or thumbnails.

I appreciate your help.

Thanks for the reply.

To help narrow down the possible cause for this, could you let us know the following:

Does the web player on the same PC display the images correctly?
If possible, could you try logging in with a different account and see if the same occurs. You can use the account of someone you know or make one yourself.

In the meantime, consider deleting the host files as shown here, hopefully this can also help get the app working as expected again.

The hosts file had nothing pertaining to spotify or lastly.

However, I just booted up today and opened Spotify and it was back to
normal. Don't know what happened since I restarted the PC many times during
troubleshooting and nothing worked.

Thank you to everyone who tried to help. I'm just glad it's okay now.
