This is constantly happening to me as well on Windows, all these fixes have been done and then randomly the volume will just decide to start lowering itself for a few seconds at a time

This is despite volume normalization being turned off in the settings. It happens all the time.

Hey, Welcome to the Spotify Community!

I understand how frustrating this can be, and I have a few recommendations for you to check:

1. Check your Windows sound settings
Go to Settings > Sound > App volume and device preferences and see if there are any automatic adjustments.

2. Disable audio enhancements
In Windows, go to Control Panel > Sound > Speakers > Properties > Enhancements and turn off all the options.

3. Reinstall Spotify, a CLEAN reinstall
Try uninstalling Spotify, restarting your PC and installing the latest version from the official website. You can check it out here.

4. Update your audio drivers
Open Device Manager, go to Sound, video and game controllers and update your sound card drivers.

5. Try another device or headphones
See if the issue occurs on another audio output, such as headphones or different speakers.

Keep me updated!

Cheers,
ribezaz 🎶

Hey @Dave4443,

Have you checked your Volume Normalization setting, shown in the first post of this thread? Its goal is to make all tracks you listen to have a nearly identical volume level. If that is set to off, some of the songs you listen to may be heard louder or quieter, depending on the songs' individual metadata settings.

My advice here would be to switch that on and to monitor the app behaviour. In case the issue reappears, let us know when it's happened and if it occurs only with specific songs 🙂

Much appreciated! Keep us posted on how things go.
