When a Smart Shuffle song is playing and I try to add it to a playlist using the Add button, it sometimes does not work.
Adding the song to the playlist via the right-click context menu works consistently.

I am not completely sure, but while trying to reproduce the issue, it seems to occur the first time I attempt to add a song after starting the app. After using the right-click menu once, adding songs works as expected.

I am using the downloaded version on Windows 11. In the attachments is the Error Report

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community!

Just to confirm, does this only happen on your PC or on other devices as well? Also, does this happen on all playlists you use the Smart Shuffle feature with?

If it only happens on your PC, it's well worth running a clean reinstall of the app to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. If you were using the version from our website, now try re-installing the app from the Microsoft Store instead to see if that makes the difference.

Lastly, it looks like the error message you mentioned hasn't been uploaded successfully. Could you give it another try?

- I dont use Smart Shuffle on mobile, so I cant say much about other devices

- I currently only use Smart Shuffle on one playlist

I will try a clean reinstall and see whether the issue occurs again. Reproducing the error reliably has been a bit difficult so far.

Regarding the error logs I will try to attach them again. If that still doesn’t work, feel free to reach out via private message and I’ll find another way to share them

Thanks for getting back to us and sending us this info.

We understand that you don't use this feature on other playlists, but it'd be helpful if you could try on a different one to see whether the issue is related to only that specific playlist. Is that a large playlist you're having this issue with?

On another note, take your time to perform the clean reinstall of the app and let us know how it goes.

After the clean reinstall, the issue did not occur at first. However, it happened again today.

Regarding the playlist, it has almost 600 songs.

I have attached new logs.

Could you confirm if you tested with another playlist or were you using your main one when the issue occurred? I'm wondering if creating a carbon copy of your main playlist and trying with it will make a difference 🤔

Feel free to try this:

Go to your playlist and tap the three dots menu.
Select 'Add to other playlist' > 'New playlist'. This will create an exact duplicate of your playlist so you can check if that one works well.

I created a carbon copy of the playlist as suggested. The issue occurred again fairly quickly with the copy playlist.

We appreciate your feedback on this. Our tech folks investigate further. We're unable to provide an exact ETA for a fix at the moment, but we'd recommend making sure you're keeping the app updated so you don't miss a thing.

In the meantime, you can use the workaround of saving the songs from the right-click menu as it seems to do the trick.

Listening to liked songs with smart shuffle, like song it doesn't save to playlist despite "adding". Spotify isn't freeware and should work given I'm paying. This is the 2nd or 3rd bug that I've encountered and I'm strongly considering just switching to Apple M given that.
