Hi there, folks!

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Spotify Community!

Just to confirm, it happens only with videos from podcasts or the issue is present during videos from songs too? Also, to investigate further, send us in your next reply the following details:

The affected device (make/model) and its OS version.

The exact Spotify app version you’re currently running.

A short video recording of the issue in action. You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. Or upload it to YouTube/Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the file has the permissions for anyone to watch it).

Hello Eni,

This only happens on a single device in the desktop-app, web player is fine. This happens with all podcasts, on my Dell Latitude 3420 with Windows 11 22h2 installed. I'll try if it happens on a different connection and look for the version.

I faced this problem in my Mac but not in my smartphone. I switched the output to my smartphone and from it I switched to Audio only mode. Then, I switched back to my Mac and the problem disappeared. It seems to be related to Video mode on desktop application.

Same thing is happening to me - both in the web app and in the Windows app that I just downloaded to see if it was an issue in that too. Only music with videos (noting that I don't ever want to play videos because I'm either listening at work, while I'm driving, or while I'm otherwise doing something else and not looking at Spotify). The playlist I'm trying to play is the Discover Weekly playlist that Spotify created for me. And the playback is stopping on the affected tracks; it's not skipping to the next track.

I'm also rather upset because it's affecting tracks I was looking forward to hearing when they were available.

Thanks for getting in touch about this.

Also, make sure to let us know if it happens with only one specific podcast or with all of them. If it happens with only some specific ones, send us their URI so we can take a closer look.

On another note, we'd like to know if this occurs on one particular device or on all your devices. Additionally, it's worth trying with a different internet connection to see if the same happens. If you've been using Wi-Fi, you can now try with mobile data to test it.

Hi Eni,

Details Below:

Occurs on Windows 10 PC only, does not occur on multiple iPhones.

Occurs on both home WiFi and personal hotspot

Reinstall, restart, clearing cache, etc. did not resolve.

Impacts podcasts with video element and music videos. Audio-only podcasts and music work fine. Two examples:

The Ringer NFL Draft Show

Jack Mallers Show

Please advise if you have any additional troubleshooting steps.

Cheers,

Anthony

Hi @Bastronaut,

Thanks for the reply and the info provided.

Consider trying both the version of the app from the website and from the Microsoft Store. Try adjusting the quality settings too and see if that has any effect.

Let us know how it goes.
