Hi there, I often jump into my local file library while online with Wifi and it will continue to play even if I turn off or lose my connection. Most of my local files are not even available on Spotify so it is playing from my hard drive and not from the streaming catalog.

If you are really concerned about this possibly overlapping just tell Spotify to go offline. If you are using the app on your desktop just click the Spotify tab at the top left and then "Go Offline." This should still allow local play.

Hope this helps!
