Spotify open in full screen - cannot access taskbar anymore - windows 7

I have Spotify open and maximised on my computer. However, since the upgrade, I can't access the Windows taskbar from an open and maximised Spotify window (i.e. Spotify is open, I move my mouse down to the bottom of the screen to bring up the taskbar and switch to another currently running programme... and nothing happens).

This is not a problem with my operating system, as this works exactly as it should when I have any other programme open. But if Spotify is the open, maximised window, I have to press the Windows start button to bring up the toolbar. I can't see anything about this in the settings/preferences.

Does anybody have a solution to this? It's really annoying when moving between different windows.

Me too but I have this on a linux desktop using fedora. its very frustrating to work and use spotify

The same problem on Linux (Fedora 22). The last version of spotify can't even be resized by regular window manager shortcts/mouse gestures like any other application. Extremely annoying.

Close Spotify, remove ~/.config/spotify/window_position.prefs file and start Spotify again.

Works for me, Ubuntu 16.04 LTS with Gnome (Shell 3.18.5) & Spotify 1.0.24.104.g92a22684

I also added a shortcut (function alias) for calling the command more easily by doing:

1. Open profile settings file with superuser privileges

sudo nano ~/.bashrc

2. Add this function to the final part of the file

function fullScreenBug () {
 sudo killall spotify && echo "Spotify Killed" && \
 sudo rm ~/.config/spotify/window_position.prefs && echo "Window preferences deleted" && \
 sudo apt moo
}

3. Now, exit the terminal (or reload profile settings) and execute

fullScreenBug

(fullS -> tab) also do the job 😉

Anybody an idea how this works on Windows 10? Can't find the before mentioned directory, or even just the file that has to be removed in the Spotify install folder.

Exactly the same problem here. I've seen it spoken about before in older versions but various updates have fixed it. However, it's always occurred for me on Windows 10, but hardly anyone else, it seems. The previous poster is the only other person I've seen mention it in the last year or so.
