Hello!

I'm just wondering how many versions the Win32 Windows Store app (which I noticed about 15 minutes ago) will be behind the main update channel? Mainly, would it be updated as frequently as the "restart spotify to install update" prompt?

Thanks!

It's the latest version, so the same as the usual desktop app which gets replaced during the installation of the new Windows 10 app from the store, so you don't have to uninstall it separately. It works and looks the same as the desktop app, the new feature is that it will work with the MS Surface tablets with Windows 10 S version now, but not yet with Windows phones or the Xbox.

Concerning changed preferences you should check its settings after the update, e.g. it can happen that it forgets your Last.fm login details again in case you are scrobbling to Last.fm. Also it will load automatically after startup if you dont change that setting back etc.
