Newest spotify update for windows causing high CPU usage while not minimized

I've been on Spotify for windows version 1.0.44.100.ga60c0ce1 for a couple days and I've noticed a new problem. I get a consistent CPU usage of 25-40% at any time the client window is open on my desktop, even when not playing any music or loading any content. If i minimize the desktop window, the usage drops instantly -- leading me to surmize that it has something to do with the spotify GUI itself.

This is NOT the same issue people reported years ago from p2p / hardware acceleration; I have already looked through those threads and this is clearly a different issue.

Hi! You can try to hide the announcements banner at the top of the "Browse"-page. This worked for me, at least.
