Import from iTunes not working

I love Spotify but just started using it full-time around three months ago. Before then I got all my songs from iTunes and now have around 250 songs that I'd like to import to Spotify. I organized them into playlists and followed all the instructions given here -

I changed the iTunes settings, etc. but it didn't work. So then I followed some more threads where people had the same problem and their solutions also didn't work. It would really suck if this feature didn't work because it would take me hours to get all of the songs that I already have. Any suggestions would be great. I'm using Windows 7.
