Hi @Washynig sorry you’re having trouble oppening the windows application. It appears you need to reinstall the app. I would uninstall it, restart the computer. And then visit the website Spotify.com/download and download it from there. Hope this fixes your issue!

@Washynig

21 times? That's a lot!

It's possible to clean reinstall Spotify as well. This is how it goes:

1. Close Spotify and uninstall it.

2. Go to %AppData% in Windows Explorer, and delete any Spotify folders you find in Local and Roaming.

3. Restart your computer.

4. Now reinstall Spotify.

It may be possible that the cause of your error message lies in the folders left in %appdata% after uninstalling Spotify.

If that still didn't resolve it or you've already tried exactly that, report back. 🙂

@Washynig

That's strange indeed...

It could be a malware infection. You can try this:

1. Install RKill and run it. It's a small process that finds and kills any potential malware processes.

2. Install Malwarebytes (free download) and run the full scan. Enable the 30-day trial during the installation process.

If you find anything, Malwarebytes makes it easy to guarantine and destroy them. 🙂

For an extra step you can try running SuperAntiSpyware as well. It will most likely find hundreds of tracking cookies, so don't worry about seeing an outrageous number of detected files. :')

Uninstall these programs if you've finished with scans and don't need them anymore.

Is this error a recently occurring issue? 🙂

@Washynig

Hmm, at least you don't seem to be infected, which is nice.

You can try the offline installer for Spotify to see if that works.

Uninstall the current Spotify you have and try this one.

Can you recall any recent changes in your computer (antivirus saying something, new programs, any other errors)?

I'd also run the System File Checker:

Open Command Prompt with Administrator rights (right-click - Open as Administrator)

Enter this:

sfc /scannow

That will run for a little while, checking the integrity of Windows system files.

On the meantime, you can use the Spotify web player. It doesn't need to be installed. 🙂

Looking forward to hearing from you!

I had the same problem but I managed to fix it.

1. Right click on the taskbar and click on task manager.

2. Scroll all the way until you found Spotify. End the task until you do not see Spotify.

3. Install Spotify

I hope this helps!! 😆
