Loggin In takes too long

Hi, this is my first post here.

Let me just first say that I love Spotify and that I don't wish you take this the wrong way. When I open my PC and Windows starts (I'm using 7 x64) I have chose to have Spotify start up with it. From when the Log In screen pops up it takes THREE AND A HALF MINUTES for the program to actually open. It just says "Initializing" and seems like it's not responding.

That's a long time for any software to open. I'd be wondering what's wrong if it took Spotify 30 seconds to open up... let alone 3½ minutes.

What's going on? Why is it doing that? It clearly shouldn't.

It takes a matter of seconds for me...

What other programs do you have opening at boot? It could be that your computer is overwhelmed - Spotify is a CPU intensive program.

Other programs... uhh...

Well I've got 72 services running at startup. I do have i5 processor and 8 gigs of ram so I think my PC should be able to handle Spotify.

Ones that could cause problems...

* Rainmeter

* AI Suite II

* Wacom Tablet driver, altho it's delayed

* Hamachi

* Logitech profiler for gamepad

* Dropbox

I don't know. Everything is pretty much standard Windows stuff here. Nero update? Google update? I've got nothing.

I'll try disabling Rainmeter at startup.

edit: Ok, disabling Rainmeter did exactly nothing.

Yes, I have the same problem. After the lastest update Spotify takes forever to open. It's not your computer, but I wonder what they changed to make it that much slower. Could be something not optimized correctly, but surely there must be more people with the same problem?

There are some known performance issues (from the community) on v0.9.0.x they are being worked on.

They should hopefully be fixed in the next release 😉
