Spotify adverts not playing

Hello

When I listen to music a Spotify advert "plays" but there is no advert actually playing. It's silent, no visual, it won't let me skip, won't let me choose a new playlist/song.

I tried restarting my laptop, logging out/in, and uninstalling/reinstalling the software but nothing has worked. To get around this I have to close Spotify, try reopening (prompting a dialogue saying something akin to "Spotify is not responding") before clicking to reopen again where it reopens.

This doesn't happen every time I get an advert, but it's more often than not. Any one have any solutions for this, or is this a Spotify bug itself?

Hey @bakkugo

I suggest trying out the clean reinstall:

1. Close Spotify and uninstall it.
2. Go to %AppData% in Windows Explorer, and delete any Spotify folders you find in Local and Roaming folders.
3. Restart your computer.
4. Install Spotify.

If that didn't work, please let me know the version of Spotify, the version of your operating system, and if possible, screenshot to the ad that's causing issues. 🙂
