&lt;P&gt;Let's try reinstalling Spotify one more time following these &lt;A href="https://support.spotify.com/article/reinstallation-of-spotify/" target="_blank"&gt;steps&lt;/A&gt;. Before installing it again, restart your desktop and run Windows in safe mode.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Head to the folder under&amp;nbsp;~:\Users\"USERNAME"\AppData\Local, and delete any Spotify folders from it.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Once this is done, try installing the latest Spotify app &lt;A href="http://www.spotify.com/download/" target="_self"&gt;here&lt;/A&gt;.&lt;/P&gt;

      <title>Spotify Won't Download To Desktop</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;In the past month or so there was an update for Spotify. The update wouldn't install on my computer. The same error code (18) kept appearing ["The installer is unable to install Spotify because the files to write are in use by another process. Please make sure Spotify is not running and retry."] I opened up my task manager to make sure it was closed (it was). How can I fix this? I've tried uninstalling and re-installing 3 or 4 times now.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
