&lt;P&gt;Could you send us your Spotify version numbers? Also, have you tried &lt;A href="https://support.spotify.com/article/reinstallation-of-spotify/" target="_blank"&gt;reinstalling&lt;/A&gt;&amp;nbsp;it before adding your local files?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;In case the reinstallation doesn't help, try turning off Hardware Acceleration under View, to see if it fixes the issue.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You can also try dividing your local files into a few folders and sync them one at a time to see if it makes the process any easier.&lt;/P&gt;

      <title>Memory leak in Windows 10 client when using Local Files</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have a library of 10,000+ MP3s, and Spotify fails to index it. When I add the folder with my music, Spotify slowly starts using more and more memory and slows to a crawl, making it completely unusable until I kill the process in Task Manager. Once I do that, I can restart the client and the folder is gone from my Preferences page.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
