Spotify does not show up in Windows Volume Mixer!

After formatting my PC (Windows 10 64bit) Spotify no longer shows up in the volume mixer (see picture).

I use PCPanel to control sound via volume mixer, so I need Spotify there for it to work. Has anyone had a similar issue, or maybe know about a fix?

Check to see if the following steps help.

1. Click Start.

2. Click Control Panel and then on Sound.

3. Double click on Speakers.

4. Under advanced tab check the option "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device". Click OK.

Thanks for the quick answer! I tried that, including a restart, and sadly it did not work for me 😞

You could try putting Spotify in Compatibility Mode (Windows 7).

To do this:

1. Locate your Spotify application

2. Right click the icon and click Properties

3. Navigate to the Compatibility tab

4. Under the header 'Compatibility mode', check the option 'Run this program in compatibility mode for' and select Windows 7 in the dropdown bar

5. Restart Spotify

I tried that, but it didn't work. However, further down I saw "run as administrator", and I remembered that has worked for many programs, and it worked here too!!
