I would love it if favorite songs would be reverted back to songs. I hate seeing that heart everywhere and would rather see the '+' sign.

I agree, add two separate icons or let us decide if we want heart or +. I prefer +...

Update : it's only for free user, you need to premium for + sign to reappear

Hey @Phendus,

Edit:
Nothing to worry! Spotify is undertaking some changes and Songs folder name is now Favorite Songs. Another change is that the + and Follow buttons are changed to a ♥︎.
You will be able to Follow artists and playlists by tapping that heart which will add the to Your library, but don't worry they won't be added to your Favorite Songs yet. When you open a playlist or when exploring an artisits page for songs you can tap ♥︎ again this time to save them in Favorite Songs.
Spotify has done this change to make one universal icon to add something to your library! ♥︎

However, if you would like, you can submit your idea in Idea Submissions board or support it if this idea has been already submitted.

What if I'm using Spotify Premium? The only tab I'm seeing is Favorite Songs.

I agree 100% - the heart icon and favorite terminology should be reverted because it is totally misleading. Just because I save a song/album to my library does not make it a favorite song/album, and I may not even like it at all. I save a song/album to my library in order to remember to listen to it (either immediately or at a later time).

I'm a premium member and as others have stated, calling it favourite and making it hearts instead of + is misleading. Not everyone uses it for their favourite songs.

Agreed. Revert it back to Songs. This change is pointless.

It makes more sense to bring back the Starred feature and call it Favorites.

Added my vote to the idea. Just like everyone has stated here, Spotify can't assume that people only download songs because they intend to favourite them. They download them because they at least have a bit of interest in them... which definitely does not equal to a favorite. Apart from that, everyone will just create a "general library" playlist (like I did) to add their songs to their library. Although that could be the "solution" to this problem, the fact that everyone will do it just makes the "solution" redundant and would be better off built-in.

I don't know the official fix for this, but you can go to this link:

and download the old file version. This is the latest version which has "Songs" instead of "Favorite Songs," it was released June 6th.

Did you guys read this in the FAQ?
"What happened to all my saved music?

Any songs, playlists, artists, albums, and podcasts you saved before the app was updated can still be found in Your Library.

Note: Songs you saved are now in your Favorite Songs playlists. "

I have the reverted version. Is all the music still there in "Your Library" for the new version?

Saving a song doesnt mean that its my favorite and even if it was i could make a favorite songs playlist.Also the new Heart icon looks so stupid and ugly.Spotify is just trying to make us leave

I got my songs back:
Using the link posted by Jewraxxus, I reverted to the old version. I put all of my saved songs into one giant playlist. When I restarted Spotify it updated to the new version again, and all of my old saved songs were now favorited as well. You can now remove songs from playlists and it stays favorited (I checked).

Not as good as the old system but at least if you lost a lot of saved songs you can get them back.

I have just noticed your edited message so here's my appropriate response. What seems like a simple change to Spotify is actually something integral for a music player (in which Spotify is... one where some people pay for at that). Does Spotify even realise that they removed a general library where people want to save their songs? Your explanation is NOT a solution. This is because people aren't afraid of not being able to save their songs, they are afraid of not having a simple and a direct system to saving their songs. As the saying goes, don't change something which was already fixed. I don't know in what world did Spotify think that Following artists and albums and adding songs to your Songs section with a + sign was confusing. Spotify's attempt at simplifying the program also doesn't make sense as replacing Songs with Favorite Songs removed the basic part of a music player... a general library where people can save songs which they are at least mildly interested in. I don't need to explain to you that the norm is that you download songs that only interest you and if you find one that you really like, THEN you favourite it. It is not just me who's saying it as well. People in this thread showed that this is the common norm on how music players are supposed to work and I'm pretty sure you know it too. Again, regarding the following of artists and albums, this does not fix the problem either. What if the person is only interested in one song from the album / artist? This also brings me to another point which I mentioned before. People will still create a general playlist for themselves to store all their saved songs in. Wouldn't this be more comfortable for the user to just have a general library ready for them? I certainly would find it more comfortable than having to create my own playlist because a music player now lacks such a basic function!

I hope that Spotify would understand our concern as a community.

Haha yea, now it always feels like lying to yourself when you click that heart, you know you "Kinda like" the song but you have to press the "i totally love this song, it's one of my favorites"-button 😕 Feels uncomfortable to press it every time

Definitely, but the problem doesn't stop at "the hearts look stupid". This change has really messed things up when it comes to us being able to inform Spotify about which songs we really like (thus guiding how well Spotify curated playlists match our tastes). The little thumbs up thing in the curated playlists has also changed to the heart, and the heart forces us to place that song in our song library (aka favorite songs). The problem is that my library is FULL!!! Before I was able to tell you which songs I liked without being forced to place that song in my filled up library (I am forced to put them in another playlist instead becuase of the STUPID 10,000 song limit). But now that I can't do that, I can't tell Spotify which songs I love at all. Change it back to how it was before!!! Or better yet, for crying out loud, GET RID OF THE 10,000 SONG LIMIT!!!!

I just wanted to chime in with the choir here and express my dislike for the confusing heart button as well. Why do these stupid changes keep getting implemented and there isn't even any kind of heads up at all explaining it? Is it that hard to give me a popup/notification whenever the app updates telling me what has changed? Or even better, before forcing these ridiculous changes that no one wants on us, why not give us an option or let us vote on these things? The customer should be driving the future of the product, not Spotify making decisions for us weather we like it or not. Everytime these stupid things happen I question why I am still a premium member. I really don't want to cancel but it seems like the only way to get Spotify's attention is if everyone votes with their wallet!
