That's a recent update they implemented. So far the community response is pretty bad, as far as I can tell.

Until the Spotify Team comes up with an answer, you can go here:

https://www.filehorse.com/download-spotify/35422/

and download the latest version with "songs" instead of "favorite songs." Just click "free download" in the top right, and when it finishes downloading, close spotify and run it as you would the spotify installer.

It works until you restart Spotify, at which time it auto-updates. Save ALL of your songs to a playlist. Then restart, allowing it to update. All of your previous saved songs will now be in your "favourites".
