My Question or Issue

Is there any way to cast to a Chromecast Audio dongle (connected to my hifi amp on an AUX input) when using the Spotify App (outside of the Chrome browser) on Windows 10 from a desktop PC?

It's currently only possible to cast music to Chromecast devices using your phone, tablet, or the web player. For more information, check out the Chromecast support article.

I'd also recommend adding your +VOTE on this idea, which suggests a way to cast music to Chromecast devices using the Desktop app. Make sure to keep an eye on that thread for the latest update!

Good news!

You can now find Chromecast in the connect "devices available" menu in the Spotify desktop app and browser web player. Now you can cast your music to Chromecast from the desktop app without having to use the iOS or Android app.

Make sure your Spotify desktop app is up to date
