My Question or Issue

my username is a bunch of random numbers/letters and I want it to show my full name rather than the long ID.

Hi hoyitsdini, welcome to the community!

I would recommend that you try restarting the Spotify client by right clicking the Spotify icon in the bottom right (the tray icon) and clicking Exit. Reopen Spotify and have another look.

If this does not solve your issue, please reinstall Spotify using the following instructions.

Hey @hoyitsdini, welcome to the community!

As the team looks to improve the overall Spotify experience, Spotify now automatically generating usernames, hence the random numbers and letters.

You don’t need to remember this to log in.

You can log in with just your password and the email address associated with your account.

During sign up, you can personalize your account by creating a profile name that’s displayed in the app. There’s no limitations to a profile name, so you can choose any you like 🙂

Note: It’s not possible to log in with a profile name.
