Albums no longer displayed in alphabetical order

Hi,

I've already opened this topic ( https://community.spotify.com/t5/Desktop-Windows/Albums-no-longer-displayed-in-alphabetical-order/m-p/4570114#M65222 ) but I clicked on "accept as solution" by mistake and I'm unable to undo it.

I'm a spotify free user listening music via the web browser ( link: https://open.spotify.com/collection/albums ).

I'm pretty sure I haven't touched any options, but since some days ago, albums and artists are no longer sorted in alphabetical order. Seems like most recently added album are now on top.

What I'm sure about is that this is not the way I'd like my albums and artists to be sorted. Trust me, find an album or a song that I'd like to listen like is a nightmare!

I would like to have albums sorted in alphabetical order by artists as it was since no long ago, but I haven't found any option/setting allowing me to do so.

Do you know if there's a way to restore it?

I'll show you a screenshot of the albums page as it is now to show you what the problem is.

I'm using the web browser on a Windows 10 laptop and I'm a free user.

Sorry to hear you've been experiencing this for a while now without getting any appropriate answers!

I'm not personally a browser user so it's unfamiliar to me.

However, I might have a possible suggestion that could help solve your issue!

As a desktop app user, I suggest downloading the app as you're definitely able to sort artists and albums in Your Library in the desktop app.

Sort Albums and Artists in Your Library

Select Albums or Artists in the menu on the left, and choose a Sorted by option from the dropdown menu.

Hi BelP and thank you for your answer.

Unfortunatly, I'm using spotify at work. Listening music in streaming is tollerated here, but software installation from external sources is forbidden.

At the moment I'm using youtube for daily music, but I'm more an "album" guy rather than a "single hits" one and I'm missing spotify. Badly.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that even switching to a premium account won't solve the problem.

Really guys, I'm not a programmer, but I reckon that giving users an option on "how would you like your collection to be displayed" isn't difficult at all. I don't understand this annoying attitude.

Hey @Crudelone.

We understand your situation. Unfortunately, on the Web Player it currently isn't possible to sort your music in alphabetical order.

However, if you want to, you can submit this as an idea which the Spotify team can consider implementing in the future, provided it gets enough kudos from other users.

hi,

the idea has been already submitted, but unfortunately it's not receiving many likes.

I am struggling to understand the reasons behind the idea of sort albums by adding apart from annoy people.

If something would ever change please let me know, in the meanwhile I'll listen music on youtube.

Voting for an idea is a good way to contribute to the discussion, but it's not the only factor, and we always take user experience into consideration to provide the best overall listening experience. If a feature is missing now, it might show up in the future.
