Plan

Free

Country

USA

Device

Lenovo Yoga running Windows 10

When I open Spotify from the web (by typing spotify.com), the page does not load properly (see attachment). Clicking any visible links results in a white screen. The computer I am using has corporate filters applied on it. This issue started happening yesterday (9/20/2018). When I try to open Spotify on Web on my MacBook Air (mid-2013), the website loads properly. Does anyone know what could be causing this issue? Thank you.

Hey @syzygythesyzygy

By corporate filters, do you mean some kind of addons or a firewall?

Both can cause issues when they happen to block Spotify traffic.

Could you try using another browser on the same computer, and try using the incognito window? 🙂
Also, do you have same kind of filters on the Macbook?

Let me know how it goes!

@syzygythesyzygy

In this case I'd suggest checking your hosts file, if you're able to use Administrator rights on your Lenovo.

1. open Notepad as an administrator (right-click - Open as Administrator)
2. go to File - Open and navigate to

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

3. Choose "All Files" instead of "Text Documents" next to the File Name box. You'll see a handful of files. Pick hosts and click on Open.
4. The file is opened. You will see a block of text with # in front of each line and might see entries like

0.0.0.0 website.com
127.0.0.1 website2.com

Check for any entries with spotify or fastly in the address. Examples may look like:

0.0.0.0 weblb-wg.gslb.spotify.com
0.0.0.0 prod.b.ssl.us-eu.fastlylb.net

They can look different from the examples.
5. If you do find any, delete the line. You can also add a # in front of the line, that's 'commenting out'.
6. Save your changes. Restart browser.

Let me know how it goes 🙂
