Spotify Crashes when I change the output-Device

My Question or Issue

Hi,

I use Spotify on my PC a lot.

Usually I switch between Headset and my 5.1 Sound System by changing the "Default Device" in the Audiosettings in Windows.

This worked for years.

But yesterday I noticed that this now results in Spotify completely freezing, repeating the last second of music over and over again.

I have to kill Spotify using the Task-manager and restart it to play music again.

But since there are four Spotify-processes when I start the Appllication this can be quite annoying.

It's a known issue and Spotify is looking into it. Check out the Status Update of this Issue thread for more information and what you can do. 🙂

Terminating the Spotify process with biggest memory usage will kill all other Spotify-related threads as well.
