Spotify app doesn't launch when triggered with Bluetooth earphone "play" button

My Question or Issue:

When I'm connected with my Bluetooth earphone then click the "play" button in the earphone controller it doesn't start and play the Spotify app. All I see when I tried this is a notification in my phone says "Spotify is starting" and after few seconds the notification is automatically removed. After the notification was removed Spotify app still didn't run.

I thought my earphone is the fault, but when I "manually" run the Spotify app and click any of the earphone controllers they seems to work as expected. Thus I think this is in Spotify app.
