Spotify won't launch

Hello. I've been trying to turn Spotify on, and all I got was a black screen with few buttons on top but nothing more, I've got no downloads in the background, and no running apps. I've got Spotify premium. been waiting for 10 minutes, still nothing.

Hey @Sergal thanks for posting!

That doesn't sound cool, from how long you experience this, is it the first time you get it or no? First of all, check if you have the latest updates for your graphic card.

If you're up to date with the drivers, let's try these steps below.

1. See if you can click the 3 dot menu at the left > Edit > Preferences ( or CTRL+P ). Show Advanced Settings > Compatibility at the very bottom > Turn off Hardware Acceleration and restart Spotify.

2. If the above doesn't work try to reinstall Spotify, you can learn more about it here

3. Still nothing? you can try another step - Launching Spotify from the command line

- Click on Start

- Type "run" and hit Enter

- If Spotify is installed in the default location, copy and paste the command into the box (delete everything if there's another text)

%APPDATA%\Spotify\spotify.exe --disable-accelerated-layers --disable-accelerated-fixed-root-background

- Click OK and Spotify should launch.
