Hello there,

I have an audio interface in which I have to set it to 44 or 48khz, otherwise it seems to be doing some conversion on the fly.

When I set it to 44khz some albums sound better on Spotify, and others in 48khz, there seems to be a clear audible difference.

Am I correct that Spotify is streamng different albums on different sampling rates? Some albums are 44khz and others 48khz?

Is there a way to see the sample rate of the track you are listening to?

My guess is it would depend on the format/sampling rate those tracks where provided to Spotify by the record labels (since Spotify don't alter the tracks at all).

To my knowledge there is no way to see that data either.

But you think also that Spotify is using both sample rates depending on the album, 44khz and 48khz?

Only 44.1kHz as you can see when using the official Spotify App with linux and use the $ pw-top command to check with your pipewire Server the used formats of various Apps:

Quantum: 8192 (Buffer Size)

Rate: 44100 (Sample Rate)

Format: F32LE 2 44100 - which translates to Float 32Bit Depth Stereo 44.1kHz Sample Rate. F32LE is good, but rest not so much.
