My Question or Issue

I have many different audio outputs set up on my pc. When I choose to use any output other than my headphones, Spotify closes when I press play. If I set my output to headphones it plays just fine and when switching outputs while the Spotify app is active and playing, sound still outputs to headphones.

Hi there!

I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstall of the app. Just follow these steps.

Could you try using Sing Out Everywhere and Remove Offline devices options from your Spotify account?

Also, make sure to have Windows 10 1903 Build 18362.239 installed.

Unfortunately, none of the suggested fixes worked for me. The app on my pc will still only run if the correct output is set. I don’t know how to check the build though.

Hey @ScratchNSniff,

You can check it out from the Run window.

Hit Windows + R in the keyboard and in the new window that appears type in it's search bar winver then hit enter.
