Plan

Premium

Country

Malaysia

Device

Acer Aspire V15 Nitro

Operating System

Windows 10

My Question or Issue

My Spotify app cannot play any song. It just gives an error message "Spotify can't play this right now. If you have the file on your computer you can import it." for every song. However, the Spotify Web Player on Chrome still can play the songs, and the Spotify Windows app can see this via Spotify Connect.

I have looked up similar issues in this forum, tried below solutions, still did not work:

- Reinstall Spotify (clean install)

- Install old version of Spotify

- Disable antivirus & firewall entirely

- Delete local files in Roaming folder

- Check hosts file to delete references to Spotify (none found)

- Disable and re-enable UPnP on router

- Restart PC & restart router

- Disabled hardware acceleration & crossfade

- Change song quality to normal

- Manually changed audio device to laptop only instead of speakers

- Lowered audio quality, then raised it again

I did update my Windows 10 yesterday, could that be the issue?

Hey there @rotibakar,

thanks for posting !

Have you updated your Win 10 and then took all the actions listed ?

If not i'd suggest reinstalling the app again the "fresh" things up.

Another indication would be if you could plug your computer straight to your Modem/Router.

Let me know how it goes 🙂

Hi @OneByBoo

The actions were after updating Win10. Tried reinstalling too. Currently my PC is plugged straight into my router. I have tried with my router's wireless too & with mobile hotspot on my phone's data plan - same issue & workaround (access via Web Player instead of Windows app).

Resolved the issue by reinstalling the audio driver.
