Question about local file quality

So recently I bought a vinyl of Purity Ring's begin again on vinyl. The album came with a download to some high quality mp3's, which sound incredibly nice. However when I imported them through the local files section of Spotify, I noticed that the songs seemed to have lost some of their crispness. In fact, I would go as far as to say that the streamed version of the song sounds better than the imported high quality mp3's.

So is it all in my head, or is there a restriction on imported local file quality?

I am experiencing the exact same thing, i thought it was just me until i found this post. Funny how the other person sent a link completely unrelrated to this issue
